Richard Hunt CBE


The London Ambulance Service


Richard is currently Chairman of The London Ambulance Service, the busiest ambulance service in the world. He is also an executive coach as a founder of Maven Ltd as well as a co-founder of Attain Partners Ltd, an international, executive performance and leadership coaching company with colleagues from Germany, the London Business School and Harvard, USA.

He has an operations and general management background in the oil industry, aviation and the logistics and supply chain sectors, with companies such as Total Oil, Grand Met (now Diageo) and Exel Logistics during its NFC Plc days. Amongst various senior roles, he was Chief Executive,  Exel Europe, (now DHL), and Chief Executive of the Aviation Division of Go Ahead Plc. He has also been CEO of two venture capital backed start-ups.

He served as Chairman and President in the UK and more recently International President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.  He was awarded the distinction of an Honorary Fellowship for services to the Institute in 2010.

He has past experience of the public sector as a non-executive with the Highways Agency and is commissioned as a Colonel in the ELSC, a specialist corps of industry advisors to the MOD.

He has an MBA from Cass Business School, an economics degree from Manchester University and initially qualified as a British Airways pilot.

He was appointed CBE in 2004 for services to logistics and transport.
