What are the Awards about?
Now in its 23rd year, The Supply Chain Excellence Awards were launched as an initiative to recognise and reward organisations around the world that demonstrate excellence in their supply chain operations.
These Awards are renowned for the rigour of the judging process which also provides valuable feedback for entrants.
The key objectives of the Awards are:
• To recognise outstanding achievement in supply chain management across the world
• To reward those companies who have attained the highest standards
• To highlight the importance of, and the opportunities offered by, excellent supply chain management
• To celebrate, as an industry, the successes of the past year
• To provide a unique networking opportunity for the world’s senior supply chain professionals
The 23rd Awards will be held on 5th November 2019
Who can enter the Awards?
The Supply Chain Excellence Awards are designed to celebrate the achievements of ‘end-user’ business who have or those working on a functioning supply chain of any organisation
All entries must be focused in this way, on the supply chain practitioner from sectors mentioned above. We welcome submissions from solutions providers, e.g. 3PLs and consultancies, only when in partnership with an end-user practitioner client, who must be the focus of the entry.
What are the categories?
How much does it cost to enter?
There is no charge to enter the Awards. We believe in recognising outstanding achievement whatever the size of organisation or budget, so we prefer to avoid charging our industry’s forward thinkers to enter the Awards.
What is the entry deadline?
The entry deadline has been extended to the 26th July 2019.
My client or ‘end-user’ is a solutions provider, so can I enter?
We use the term ‘end-user’ as those working on a functioning supply chain of an organisation within any industry have a job function such as, Chief Supply Chain Officers, Supply Chain Directors, Heads of Supply Chain, Heads of Fulfilment, Supply Chain Managers, etc.
If you are a solutions provider with a client who is a provider of products and/or services for supply chain and logistics, we would class your client as a solutions provider. We work with a number of these organisations who enter each year in partnerships with one of their end-user clients who are supply chain practitioners as outlined above. Therefore, if you would benefit from aligning your brand with the Awards and getting in front of current and prospective client solutions providers, please contact us.
What is the entry criteria?
Please note that the focus of these Awards is on end-user practitioners within supply chain and logistics and we can only accept submissions from non-end-users (e.g. 3PLs, 4PLs, consultancies) when in partnership with an end-user customer. If you have any queries, please contact us.
To help entrants, we have outlined the following:
- Quality of contribution
- Significance of innovation to the industry
- Extent to which the solution creates competitive advantage for the company
- Depth of application
- Evidence of business benefits
- Collaboration with others
Criteria for the second stage organisation presentation (if successful in reaching this stage):
- Enthusiasm and passion
- Commitment of senior management
- Communication with the wider organisation
- Scope/magnitude of change/achievement
- Evidence of results
The Awards will be held on 5th November 2019
Can I enter more than one category?
You can, but please do keep each entry as distinct as possible. Whichever categories you are considering, we would always recommend entering the relevant Industry Sector award, as these are one of the highlights of the Awards and will mean you will be considered for the prestigious Overall Winner award.
How do I enter?
Click on the Enter tab and go through our entry portal to download your entry pack in either a PDF or Word format. Complete the form and then submit.
Our organisation won last year, can we enter again?
Of course. We do not prevent previous winners from entering again, as for successful concurrent winners it can help enormously to promote themselves as such. However, we take a strictly impartial view during the judging process, so each year is treated as an entirely new process, with no bearing on previous results.
Our organisation is an SME, do we stand any chance of winning?
Absolutely. We believe that outstanding practice happens at all levels and so we will reward deserved achievements whatever the size of organisation – take a look at the hall of fame to see for yourself. In fact, we have a specific category for SME’s. You can view the full list of categories here.
Our organisation is public/third sector, can we enter?
We encourage entries from the public and third sectors, in fact we have a dedicated Public & Third Sectors category. You can view the full list of categories here.
Does it matter where our organisation is based?
No, these Awards celebrate supply chain excellence on a global scale but please do remember, you have to come and visit us in London as part of the judging process!
Can I see some example entries from previous years?
Unfortunately not. While we appreciate that may be helpful as a guide, one thing which is of key importance to us and to our entrants is the privacy we offer. We understand that it is often only via the use of sensitive organisational data and internal insights that entrants can really show their achievements. To help ensure an environment conducive to this level of openness, our team members and all judges involved in the process are aware of our code of conduct under Chatham House Rules, so no information is shared. Likewise, we do not give out previous entry information.
Who has won previously?
Take a look at our Hall of Fame.
Who made the shortlist?
The 2019 shortlist will be announced later in the year.
Why didn’t I make the shortlist?
The field of entries was particularly strong last year, across categories. All entrants were contacted directly before publication of the shortlist with specific feedback provided and expanded where requested, so we recommend contacting us to discuss this should you require any further information.
We are proud of the fact that our Awards stand out due to their strict and impartial process, so please rest assured that results of previous years bear no relation to this year’s prospects.
How do I book a table?
